Jason is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFT, in the state of North Carolina.  Jason has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in Marriage & Family Therapy and Child & Family Studies from the University of Southern Mississippi.  Jason is also a Certified Parenting Educator and a Certified Myers-Briggs Practitioner.

Jason’s clinical orientation is founded in ‘Systems Theory’, which uses multiple family therapy approaches to identify and transform families as a whole to solidify the gains made in wilderness.  Jason has worked in public mental health as well as private practice.  He has worked with individuals, couples, and families with a wide array of issues and challenges. Jason has helped families with communication issues, loss & grief, addiction, adoption dynamics, family history of depression and anxiety, divorce/family conflict, blended families, and sibling related issues.

Prior to joining TRAILS Carolina, Jason has worked in different therapeutic wilderness programs as a field therapist, in residential treatment centers for addiction, and adolescent offender and intensive outpatient programs. Outside of work, Jason is an avid photographer, enjoys traveling, and volunteering at the animal shelter.
