In 2003, after three years as an Assistant Golf Professional for the Fields Golf Course in LaGrange, JD left the links and entered the industry as a direct care staff for a therapeutic wilderness school based in North Carolina. Designed for struggling adolescent boys ages 10 to 17, JD's responsibilities included providing 24-hour a day care to students with behavioral disorders including ADHD, conduct disorder, bipolar disorder, depression and opposition defiant disorder. He then accepted the position of Senior Counselor, responsible for supervising counseling staff, serving as liaison between parents, therapists, and referring professionals, and coordinating after care programming with clinical technicians, social workers and government officials. Two years later,  JD left the school environment to join a short term wilderness placement facility as an Admissions Counselor, quickly progressing to Director of Admissions.  During his tenure as Director, he was directly responsible for developing and planning marketing strategies, working directly with parents, referents, clinical professionals and schools, and working closely with other program professionals within the industry.  His ability and expertise led to his recruitment as a Regional Liaison for the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States, cultivating, developing and maintaining working relationships with a variety of programs and facilities.

JD's interests include competitive golf, long distance running, mountain biking and spending time with his wife, Carlyn.
